Sony Xperia 10 Review – 21:9 Displays Make The Key Highlight For Sony’s Budget Phone

Updated: May 19, 2022

Sony Xperia 10 was Sony’s attempt to compete in the mid-range market with other top manufacturers like Samsung and HTC. The budget phone comes with large, sleek displays offering a 21:9 aspect ratio, attracting users who love watching videos and movies on their smartphones. Combine this with its sleek design, and it’s a nice mid-range choice that gives most people everything they need. Let’s try to get the real feel of this handset in our Sony Xperia 10 review.

Design

Sony Xperia 10 is a tall and slim device with 156 x 68 x 8.4mm dimensions. It delivers a high-end feel with its glass front and a thin metal back, especially considering the price. There are minimal bezels but expect a thick bezel at the top as it hosts the notification light, front-facing camera, and earpiece.

The top of the phone is home to a 3.5mm jack, and you can find a USB-C charging port accompanied by speakers at the bottom. Towards its left, there’s a hybrid slot for SIM and microSD card. The volume rocker keys, power button, and fingerprint scanner also go to the right.

A prominent flash is placed at the top of its back panel with a protruding camera right underneath.

Display

Quite understandably, the handset comes with a 6” LCD display, but its 21:9 aspect ratio makes quite a highlight. Besides, you get 1080x2560 px resolution and 463ppi pixel density. Overall, it’s a good HD display, but the colors might feel a bit undersaturated. However, the display is bright, and you can also adjust the white balance easily from settings.

Camera

The rear of the Sony Xperia 10 is equipped with a dual-camera setup, featuring a 13MP primary shooter with an f/2.0 aperture alongside a 5MP secondary camera with an f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there’s an 8MP snapper with an f/2.4 aperture.

The rear cameras produce acceptable results in daylight, and the dynamic range is pretty good. However, full-size images exhibit some loss of detail and a bit of blurring. The camera result is not good enough in low-light settings. The same is the case with the front camera, but it gives accurate colors in daylight.

Performance

The Sony Xperia 10 comes packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset – a common choice for many mid-range devices. You also get 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on this device. The performance is satisfactory but not something that will blow you away. In fact, it might frustrate you sometimes with the slow speeds. However, it won’t usually lag in day-to-day tasks.

Battery Life

The handset comes with a 2870mAh, and it doesn’t prove to be big enough to power a big Full HD display. In fact, the battery life is a bit disappointing in day-to-day use. On most days, you’ll need a recharge by the end of the day, even if you had started the day with a fully-charged battery. That’s certainly not too impressive.

Overall, Sony Xperia 10 is a good bargain. It offers some decent features and gives you value for money. At Bulk Mobiles UK, we bring you the finest deals on the market. If you’ve been looking for a budget phone lately, check out what we have in store for you.
