HTC made a strong comeback with HTC 10 in 2016 – a phone that offered just about everything to compete with the top handsets at that time. Design
HTC 10 is a well-crafted handset that looks and feels like a flagship. From the looks of it, the front of the device is stripped from the HTC One A9, while its rear is designed with some tweaking of the M9 handset. The back is not rounded as much as it used to be in the older handsets, and its chamfered edges offer play but not much comfort. Its polished edges are bead-blasted to give them a distinctive shine.
You can find the camera sensor right in the middle with an LED flash alongside, accompanied by the space for its laser autofocus system. The sleek metal design is broken up by the antenna lines running around its top and bottom. On the side, you can find a volume rocker and a sleep/wake button nicely placed and easily identifiable courtesy of the beveled design of the latter. There’s a tray on each side of the phone to accommodate the Nan- SIM and the microSD cards.
Display
The HTC 10 comes with an upgraded 5.2” display and an even better 2560x1440 quad-HD resolution. It’s a very impressive panel that covers 99.9% of the sRGB color gamut. However, it lacks a bit in terms of vibrancy when compared to AMOLED displays. Other than that, it’s a wonderful display, and the colors are bright, punchy, and accurate.
Camera
The handset comes with one of the best cameras ever to feature in an HTC device. According to HTC, it’s an UltraPixel camera, and that means it uses much larger pixels and can capture brighter photos. It’s a 12-Ultrapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture and also boasts optical image stabilization. The low-light performance is superb, and you can quickly adjust the light from the brightness meter on the screen. There’s a Pro mode as well that allows you to capture photos in Raw mode. Besides, you can also record 4k videos with this camera.
On the front, you get a 5-UltraPixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture. OIS is available here as well. It can get you some really nice selfies and offers smooth video recording capabilities too.
Performance
You get a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor chip inside your HTC 10 alongside 4GB of RAM. The handset is pretty quick at launching apps, capturing photos, and scanning fingerprints. Even the graphics-heavy games play smoothly with crisp visuals. It won’t jitter even with intensive multitasking.
Battery Life
The handset comes with a 3000mAh battery that runs better compared to the one featured in the older M9. You can expect more than 11 hours of battery life on a single charge.
